The Fish Market Restaurant

The Greek language doesn’t have a word for “stranger”. I have always wanted to give my customers a nice, comfortable place to visit and eat. The prices at The Fish Market still make eating here a delicious value. I have been in the restaurant business since I came here from Greece in 1. And so I say to you, “Welcome, Bring your healthy appetite”.

The Fish Market is a West Coast fish house and seafood restaurant serving an excellent selection of fresh fish, sushi and seafood throughout California.

Hwy 2. 80. Birmingham, AL3. Block Breaker Game Download For Nokia 206 Light. Came here with a customer for lunch recently. Located in the Greystone area down 2. Friday and they were virtually empty (one table with 8 people and 2 other tables with a couple people). Casual environment that you would feel fine in business attire as well (we were all business casual). Menu has regular every day lunch specials as well as a complete dinner menu. Some really good selections of a variety of fish.

Salmon, Ahi, Thresher Shark, Swordfish, etc. In addition to the regular menu they had a specials menu. Have to admit when I saw the first dish listed I was sold.. Opah (AKA Moonfish - I actually knew that one).

I haven't had Opah since eating it at one of my favorite fish restaurants in Malibu. This may have been a mistake as it was getting compared to some of the best fish I have ever had! The fish was cooked with Cajun seasoning and came with 2 sides or a house salad. I opted for the Greek potatoes and Greek rice. My dish was served in two side cups and a plate. Both sides were pretty good, however the fish wasn't the best. A little on the hard side.

My previous experience with Opah has been a very light fish taste with a very flaky light meat. The first part was spot on, very light fish taste, but not flaky at all. Cajon seasoning wasn't really noticeable. Price was a little on the high side coming in at almost $2. They did keep track of our drinks and made sure they were kept full and also checked in on us through the course of the meal to see if we needed anything else. I have had fish and chips at another location as well as the Grouper and both were pretty good. May give one of those a shot next time.

Waiter was nice, but distracted. They were juicy and HUGE. I had the lobster bisque , Angel's Oysters, and Bam Bam shrimp. The bisque was creamy and delicious. The char- grilled oysters were so good, I wish I had ordered a dozen. The cheese on the oysters was just the right amount so the oyster flavor could shine through. I enjoyed the shrimp and for an appetizer the portion was enough for 2- 3 people to share.

I love this place, always something new to try. Went here a while ago with my dad for the first and last time. The seafood jumbo was the worst jumbo I've ever had. The shrimp just tasted really weird and it was loaded way too much with salt and pepper!!

So not worth it for its price if you ask me. Another thing was their service. It was like our waitress abandoned us. She didn't stop by to ask how things were going at all. And finally, the restaurant itself was way too loud.

I was basically yelling to have a conversation with my dad and couldn't even hear him!! Perhaps it was just that one time. We paid for our underwhelming meal after only a few bites and left very disappointed. Personally, I wouldn't recommend coming here to anyone. First time to visit.

Last time to visit. Food was not fresh.

Service was minimal. Server seemed impatient when we were trying to decide what to order. We felt rushed. Food arrived quickly. I had fried shrimp. My wife had fried grouper. Neither seemed to be very fresh.

Very disappointed with entire meal. Ordered service for 3 people and paid extra for a side and then told side would be out soon.

Ate whole meal n got up asked where was side I paid extra for? Server/cashier said they had to recook it so basically just totally forgot. Told her I'm finished eating now side never came. Then got attitude saying what do u want me to do about it? Do your job!! Ensure order is cooked and when you say be right out and I'm the only table in whole place and you get my order wrong.

Don't give attitude to customer! It may be why you only have one table eating in the place! Management needs to fire this person and ensure orders get to customer. You have 1 manager on duty cook on duty server on duty one table eating.

And you can't get it right ? Will not be back has gotten worse n worse last few times till this last attempt. Wife had fried catfish with French fries. Also the salad was good. I could not even get a table because I was blatantly ignored by 2 staff members. When we walked in the door, there was no employee in sight.

I didn't know whether to wait at the front or just seat myself. I never got an answer. I just wanted some seafood on the patio now my lunch is ruined. I have never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant. If they don't want my money, I guess that's ok with me. Awful. The best tasting seafood I have ever had. The grilled snapper was tasty, juicy, and perfectly seasoned.

The problem:  the other food had been sitting on counter in to- go Styrofoam boxes for 1. The owner came over (this is the second time, so she was aware we were waiting..

Her first involvement was when the cashier was asked, . We explained 3 of 4 orders were cold and or unacceptable as a result of the wait. She insisted they weren't, so we invited her to check. Not willing to do so, she immediately moved to refund and asked for the card used.

She then proceeded to kitchen with card to instruct them to NOT redo food (the employees aimed to please and took it back to redo the 3 orders). She returned and I said it wasn't appropriate for her to take my card out of my presence and into the kitchen. She said she's been in business for 3. My wife asked for a supervisor and this is when we learned she was the owner (she made it very clear by saying she answers to no one and soliciting confirmation from a gentleman that appeared from the back).

The owner Kiki created the scene with her elevated tone. She said her day was fine and we were bad customers. We walked up to the counter to order. Amanda was the only one there and she was doing her close out for the night. She told me that she would be a minute.

She continued with her close out completely ignoring us. She made no call to the rear for assistance. Finally, someone else came out and took our orders. My wife had fried shrimp with fries.

The triggerfish was extremely salty and very grease- laden. My wife's fries were so salty they could not be eaten. And maybe a little heavy too! A restaurant that only serves fresh seafood would likely fail in a city like Birmingham. If I've got the money for authentic, he has the time! I am a fried okra fanatic and nowhere in Birmingham have I found comparable texture, taste, and presentation. Download Xperia Play Games Hd Photos. I don't know if it's battered+frozen and I don't care.

I will knock down those heavy doors and George Sarris himself to get the fried okra. Food cost for seafood is unreal, so I try to give the benefit of doubt when browsing the menu. When I feel that Fish Market is pricy, I consider that Joe's Crab Shack sticker shock is more hypovolemic than psychosomatic. And a corona will not subdue me into . Today, the waitress got my order wrong but apologized several times, fixed it, and offered a substitute while waiting. I don't care who messed the order up, she fixed it.

I have seen $1. 0 plates covered in food, and $2. I still don't know the difference between the Captains Platter and Sailors Platter. I think the Sailor is a cheaper substitute for captain while he is drunk in his quarters or piloting the Exxon Valdes. Live music sometimes etc.

Nice bar, new building, great parking, pretty landscaping. They also have a small outdoor seating area that I have yet to try.

It's really not that bad of a place to hang out : ) George, if you are reading this. I watch you cooking on the news while I'm wearing pajamas.. Keep up the great work. First of all, the meat was taken out of the shell and slabbed on top. Then, I tried to cut into it and it was extremely tough. I could barely get any meat..

It had absolutely no flavor, tough as nails, and the inside was extremely undercooked. Hands down the worst lobster I have ever eaten in my life.. Terrible experience. I got a real great experience. Perfect service and gorgeous dishes.

Ruth treated me like the only customer in the restaurant. Highly recommended.
